New LPFM and FM Translator Rules Released

March 20, 2012 by admin

On March 19, 2012 the FCC released an Order that modifies rules to implement certain provisions of the Local Community Radio Act of 2010.  The new rules eliminate its third-adjacent LPFM channel spacing requirements and to maintain the spacing requirements currently in place to protect radio reading services.

The Commission is also seeking comment on proposed changes to numerous other LPFM Rules.

The Commission also adopted a processing policy for pending Auction No. 83 FM translator applications in a manner that implements Section 5 of the Local Community Radio Act.
